About South Paw Farm School
For kids age 2-6 years old, we offer 3-5 day a week programming year-round. We see this program as a chance for kids to gather with inspiring parameters, to explore the natural world in a democratic setting and to benefit from a multi-age group exploring the world. We have access to the woods and rail trail and get outside as much as possible.
Kids this year have been energized by the Add the Wonder Nature Curriculum from 1000 Hours Outside and we will continue using it as a study path. Add the Wonder is designed to be cross-curricular and multi-age, but more than that it was written to capture attention through the fascinating things and interconnections that are already embedded in our world, making it a perfect curriculum for school. Every 2-3 weeks we will embark on a new unit such as River Creatures, Seeds, Sands and Soils or Animal Travelers. Using prompts from the curriculum and our kid's curiosities, guides will help lead kids towards foundational knowledge about the natural world as well as opportunities to practice more traditional academic skills like reading, writing and math.
Teacher center non-judgemental and needs-based boundaries for kids' activities, with an emphasis on emotional understanding and regulation.
As this is a state licensed program, up to date (or a doctor's prescribed scheduled) vaccination history is required.
